Red Deer RCMP apprehend suspect in hit and run

With assistance from the public, Red Deer RCMP has arrested the suspect involved in the fatal hit and run that occurred on Sunday.

Additional information will be released later this week, say police.

Red Deer RCMP thank the public for their assistance in identifying the vehicle and driver in question.

Tuesday, RCMP released photos of the suspect vehicle.

The vehicle, a black or dark blue 2000 to 2006 GMC Yukon SUV, with a flat-deck trailer and blue scooter, was last seen travelling westbound on Range Road 391 toward the C&E Trail.

The accident sent a 31-year-old male to hospital. He later died of his injuries.
