Front counter service will resume Thursday at the downtown Red Deer RCMP detachment.

While the front counter and lobby of the main RCMP office have been closed since March 18, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, direct service to the public will begin again, according to Stage 2 of the provincial relaunch strategy.

However, the RCMP states: “we are continuing to advise the public to continue to do business with us over the phone whenever possible by calling 403-343-5575.”

This includes reporting motor vehicle collisions or hit and runs where impairment is not suspected. It also pertains to requesting fingerprints, criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks, as well as providing information for an investigation and reporting certain crimes.

Hours of operation for the front counter will be Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
