Red Deer RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence Thursday.
An investigation began Feb. 22, after an attempted fraudulent online purchase and misuse of a credit card. The owner of the credit card used in the transaction was alerted by the purchase and reported it to police.
Red Deer RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team determined the location of the attempted fraudulent purchase was a property on Howlett Avenue in the city’s Highland Green neighbourhood.
A search warrant was obtained for the property, and given the extensive history with the residents of the property, the RCMP Emergency Response Team assisted to execute the search warrant. There were no occupants present at the time of the search warrant.
Numerous electronic devices and numerous identity documents of other people were located, police said. RCMP continue to process and analyze the seized items.
No arrests were made at the time of the search. As the investigation proceeds, charges are anticipated in relation to this incident.
