Red Deer RCMP is investigating an alleged robbery and aggravated assault that occurred early Friday morning.
Police were called to the front steps of Red Deer City Hall at about 6:05 a.m., after a 32-year-old man was discovered injured and in need of medical assistance.
An ambulance arrived at the scene and transported the man to the hospital with a serious injury.
Prior to being robbed, the man was believed to have been in possession of a tan and camouflaged BMX bike with no brakes and a camouflage backpack.
