Red Deer RCMP investigate incident involving bear mace

Bear mace sprayed into foyer of local business

Red Deer RCMP is currently investigating a dispute that led to a can of bear mace being sprayed into a local business.

Police were called to a report of a dispute occurring south of 42 Street and Gaetz Avenue at about 10:20 a.m. on Friday.

The incident continued from that location, across the street towards a nearby business, when the suspect pulled out a can of bear mace and sprayed it towards the victim.

This resulted in the bear mace being sprayed into the foyer of the business. Both the victim and suspect then fled the scene.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black hat, grey jacket, black pants and black shoes with white soles.

The incident remains under investigation.
