Red Deer RCMP is looking for anyone who may have witnessed the alleged assault of a child at a playground.

Red Deer RCMP is looking for anyone who may have witnessed the alleged assault of a child at a playground.

At about 5:45 p.m. on Sept. 5, police received a report of male child who was assaulted at the G.H. Dawe School playground.

Police say the victim was playing when a man approached and physically assaulted him. The child was injured and an ambulance was dispatched.

The suspect is described as approximately six-foot-two and 35-40 years old, tall and muscular, with yellow, red and green hair and a long beard.

At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing dark pants, a black hoodie and yellow shoes. He was riding a yellow and orange bike.

Red Deer RCMP does not believe the suspect is known to the victim.
