Red Deer RCMP recover four stolen vehicles and seize drugs

The recovery of a stolen vehicle led Red Deer RCMP to more stolen vehicles and drugs last week.

Red Deer RCMP said on March 13, its General Investigation Section located a stolen black Dodge Ram 3500 that had previously fled from police multiple times that morning.

Three men were arrested at a property just west of Caroline with the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Service, the RCMP Emergency Response Team-South, and the Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Team.

As a result of the investigation, officers located another three stolen vehicles, about 275 grams of methamphetamine, about 105 grams of cocaine, 10 grams fentanyl, and three bottles of what was believed to be gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB).

A 37-year-old Red Deer man was charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of break-in tools, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failing to comply with release order.

A 27-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged with four counts of of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of break-in tools, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failing to comply with release order.

A 37-year-old man, of Olds, was charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of failing to comply with release order, possession of prohibited device, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

All three suspects were remanded into custody, with the Olds man set to appear in court on March 23. The remaining suspects were scheduled to appear in court on April 6.
