After working with an armed robbery victim, Red Deer Mounties have developed a composite sketch of one of the two suspects.

The robbery, which took place on May 10 at 6:10 p.m., occurred in downtown Red Deer.

Red Deer RCMP said two men attempted to rob a man at gunpoint in the parking lot near the downtown tennis courts.

Two male suspects approached a man as he sat in his car in the parking lot. The men demanded he get out of his vehicle and displayed a firearm. The man refused to get out and began to drive away. Police said one of the suspects struck his window with the firearm and the pair then fled on foot.

Officers responded immediately and searched the area with the assistance of Police Dog Services, but did not locate the suspect.

Police describe the first suspect as an Aboriginal male about 25 years old, he was about 1.72 metres (five foot eight) tall, clean shaven and had a slender build. He wore a light-coloured long sleeved shirt and pants. He carried the firearm.

The second suspect is described as about 1.65 metres (five foot five) tall, he has a thicker build and wore dark clothing, a ball cap and a red bandana with a yellow design over his face.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or report it online at www.tipsubmit.com.
