UPDATED: Bomb threat in Red Deer on Thursday was false alarm

Police say no explosive device was found in Highland Green after police were called to the area Thursday afternoon.

Police say no explosive device was found in Highland Green after police were called to the area Thursday afternoon.

RCMP said its Explosives Disposal Unit investigated and found no devices in or around the vehicle in question at 103 Hermary Street.

Red Deer RCMP were on the scene much of the afternoon. The area was contained and public access was blocked off around 5 p.m.

Red Deer RCMP wanted to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while police investigated the incident.
