Red Deer RCMP return stolen plaque

Red Deer RCMP has returned a stolen plaque to the City of Red Deer’s Parks and Public Works department.

Red Deer RCMP has returned a stolen plaque to the City of Red Deer’s Parks and Public Works department.

Police recovered the plaque on June 7, during a stolen vehicle operation.

Officers arrested the male for operation a vehicle with a stolen licence plate and, following a warrant to search the vehicle, found the stolen plaque in the trunk.

“This highlights a small part of the successes we are seeing form the hard work of our Crime Reduction Team,” said Staff Sgt. Karyn Kay.

“The Crime Reduction Team focuses on emerging crime trends and community issues, including that of plaques stolen from public spaces and memorial benches.”
