Red Deer RCMP need help identifying two men who assaulted a woman after she found them in her stolen car.

Shortly before 10 a.m. on Dec. 14, police received a call about a car stolen from Normandeau, and almost immediately received another call about the vehicle owner locating her car with two men inside at a nearby Gaetz Avenue gas station.

The 25-year-old woman was struck and kicked by one of the suspects when she confronted them. They fled the scene on foot.

She did not sustain any serious injuries.

RCMP contained and searched the area with the support of Police Dog Services, but did not locate the suspects.

Police found a loaded sawed-off shotgun, an expandable baton and a large knife in the recovered vehicle.

RCMP obtained surveillance images and are asking the public for help identifying the suspects.
