Red Deer RCMP are looking for two suspects involved in an early-morning shooting in Riverside Meadows that left a man wounded.

Police said they got a call about 2:10 a.m. from a witness who reported that a man in his 30s was suffering from a gunshot wound near the corner of 52nd Avenue and 59th Street. RCMP found the man at the scene and an ambulance arrived to take him to Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre for treatment.

“Preliminary investigation suggests the victim was shot following a verbal argument with two unidentified persons,” said RCMP in a Thursday morning news release.

The first suspect is described as a clean-shaven, Caucasian male, who was on a bicycle and was wearing a dark-coloured baseball cap and shorts.

The second suspect is described as an Indigenous female of average build with orange-coloured hair.
