A skateboarder suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a hit and run incident this past week, Red Deer RCMP says.

On Thursday, around 4 p.m., a teenager was skateboarding westbound along 43rd Street in the West Park neighbourhood. When he entered a crosswalk at 54th Avenue, the skateboarder collided with a white SUV.

Police say the vehicle proceeded to make a right turn onto 43rd Street and drove away from the scene.

Red Deer RCMP released an image of the suspect vehicle Monday and are hoping the driver will come forward or the public may be able to assist in identification.

The vehicle is described as a white SUV, possibly a Jeep Compass, last seen driving eastbound on 43rd Street. The individual on the skateboard sustained minor injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.P3Tips.com.
