A 43-year-old Red Deer man has been arrested and police have seized more than 30,000 illegal cigarettes.

Red Deer RCMP say they received a tip about a person selling illegal cigarettes at a business in the city.

On July 15, the suspect was arrested. He remains in police custody with charges pending.

RCMP say the man was in possession of 30,615 illegal cigarettes, 10 grams of hash, three grams of cocaine, documents related to trafficking contraband and $3,306 in cash, believed to be from the proceeds of crime.
