As part of National Volunteers Week, and in lieu of its cancelled volunteer appreciation night, the Red Deer RCMP has reached out to thank all its helpers.

Last year, close to 120 people volunteered across seven RCMP-sponsored organizations and programs.

“On behalf of everyone at the Red Deer RCMP, we sincerely thank all of our volunteers and the contributions they make to our community,” said Sgt. Karyn Kay.

“Volunteering operations are temporarily suspended while we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, but we look forward to working with our volunteers again in the future.”

The RCMP had to cancel its volunteer appreciation evening on Wednesday and is hoping to honour the helpers at a later date.
