Red Deer RCMP recover 1,500 litres of stolen fuel

One man is facing several charges stemming from a stolen gas card used to purchase more than 1,500 litres of diesel.

An average tank size of a car is around 45 to 65 litres. Such a large amount of fuel is a unique theft, police say.

Following this seizure, the Red Deer RCMP crime reduction team executed search warrants and uncovered a substantial amount of stolen property used to support fuel thefts and the sale of the stolen diesel.

More details will be revealed by RCMP on Friday morning.
