Red Deer Real Canadian Superstore employee tests positive for COVID-19

Employee last worked on Dec. 21

An employee who last worked on Dec. 21 at the Real Canadian Superstore in Red Deer tested positive for COVID-19.

The company reported the positive test on its website on Dec. 28.

That was the only case in central Alberta that Loblaws reported in the last 15 days.

“In these cases, we work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores,” a statement on the company website reads.

Earlier this month, the 5016 51 Ave location reported four workers had tested positive and had last worked between Dec. 9-14.

Sobeys, which had several employees test positive for COVID-19 earlier this month, has not reported a positive test since Dec. 16.
