The Red Deer Rebels are raising awareness and funds for the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre as part of the #GoBlue campaign during Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Half of the proceeds from the Rebels 50/50 purchased through this upcoming Saturday will be donated through the CACAC. Tickets can be purchased online until 9:30 p.m. on Saturday or at either of the Rebels’ home games this week.

The Rebels will host the Calgary Hitmen on Wednesday and the Prince Alberta Raiders on Saturday at the Peavey Mart Centrium. Both games start at 7 p.m.

“in an effort to highlight ongoing awareness for the CACAC, the Rebels player helmets will showcase both NOVA Chemicals and the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre for the duration of the 2022-23 season,” the Rebels said in a press release Monday.

The #GoBlueAB campaign was launched four years ago at the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre in Red Deer and now is recognized by all the child advocacy centres in Alberta, B.C. and Manitoba.

The initiative aims to raise awareness and help stop the cycle of abuse through education and understanding.
