Red Deer Regional Health Foundation has received a $250,000 donation from the Arnie J. Charbonneau Foundation.
The health foundation raises and disburses funds for programs, services, and the purchase of medical equipment for the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre and other facilities in central Alberta.
Health foundation CEO Manon Therriault said this substantial donation will allow the foundation to do more and meet the urgent needs at the Red Deer hospital.
“Donations such as this one help ensure our medical professionals will have the tools they need to provide the best possible care to patients in our hospital,” said Therriault in a statement.
Having the latest technology also plays an integral role in the recruitment of medical talent, she added.
“Modern, up-to-date equipment and resources are attractive to new physicians looking to set up practice. It also provides incentive to existing healthcare professionals to stay here.”
Arnold James Charbonneau, a Calgary-based entrepreneur, was a devoted philanthropist who supported many charities and programs, including the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute at the University of Calgary.
