Fred Denney of Red Deer is $100,000 richer.
Denney won the money after matching the last six digits of the Extra on a Western 6/49 draw on May 16.
He said he was glad he entered the Extra on his ticket.
“I’ve bought some tickets without it, if I’m in a hurry,” Denny said with a laugh. “I’m glad I didn’t this time.”
He picked up his winning ticket a couple of days before the draw at Zippy’s Convenience Store at 135 Leva Ave.
When he checked his ticket after the draw, Denney said he was “completely stunned … but excited.”
He said he plans to use his windfall to finish some projects at home, help his kids out, and then invest the remainder wisely.
