The Red Deer River Naturalists are hosting an event to teach children about amphibians and invertebrates.

Pond Dipping will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. this upcoming Wednesday at Tees Trout Pond, east of Lacombe.

The event is aimed at children between six and 14, but all are welcome.

Attendees are asked to wear rubber boots and bring an extra pair of clothes just in case, as they will be exploring open water. It’s also recommended attendees bring bug spray, binoculars, water, snacks, sunscreen and a camera.

Anyone interested in attending must register at www.naturecentral.org/events.
