Red Deer River Watershed Alliance to premiere short film Monday

A short documentary film about the landscapes, communities and waters of the Red Deer River watershed will have a virtual premiere next week.

A short documentary film about the landscapes, communities and waters of the Red Deer River watershed will have a virtual premiere next week.

The Red Deer Watershed Alliance will premiere Source Waters: The Rivers That Shape Us on World Water Day on Monday from 1-3 p.m. via Zoom. The online screening will be followed by a moderated discussion with panelists across sectors.

The event is free to attend. People are encouraged to register by visiting www.rdrwa.ca. Registration opens Monday at 11 a.m.

The documentary, filmed in 2020, takes viewers on a west to east journey across the watershed, starting in the mountainous headwaters of the Red Deer River watershed in Banff National Park and travelling to the Village of Empress.

Along the way, the Red Deer River Watershed Alliance talk to scientists, elected officials, ranchers and agricultural producers about the big picture of the watershed.
