Enrolment at Red Deer Public Schools has rebounded a little, while Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools’ enrolment dipped slightly in September.
As of Sept. 30, enrolment at Red Deer Public climbed 0.91 per cent to 10,893 students from 10,793 in September 2020.
Enrolment growth of 2.5 per cent was seen in French immersion programs, with a total of 991 students, up from 966 a year ago.
Enrolment also grew at the pre-kindergarten, middle school and high school levels. High school enrolment saw the most growth with 105 more students compared to 2020.

Meanwhile, Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools had a .95 per cent drop in enrolment to 10,266 students from 10,364 in September 2020.
Both Catholic high schools in Red Deer saw a small increase in enrolment. École Secondaire Notre Dame High School had a 1.5 per cent increase to 1,125 from 1,108 in 2020. St. Joseph High School also had a 1.5 per cent increase to 767 from 755.
