Red Deer stolen vehicle investigation leads to drug bust

A Red Deer RCMP stolen vehicle investigation turned into a major drug bust.

Last month, Red Deer RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team was conducting an investigation of a stolen vehicle when they located an individual connected to the vehicle.

The suspect was alleged to be in possession of a large amount of drugs, including 273 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of fentanyl, 29 grams of psilocybin, 103 grams of cannabis solid concentrate, 47 grams of cocaine, 14 capsules of hydromorphone, 20 capsules of oxycodone and 131 capsules of fentanyl pills.

Timothy Knowles, 38 has been charged with five counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of an imitation weapon or weapon for dangerous purpose, failing to comply with a court order, possession of proceeds of crime and unlawfully distributing cannabis.

Knowles remains in custody and is due in Red Deer provincial court on Thursday.
