Red Deer students win medals at Virtual Regional Skills competition

Six students within Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools took home medals after competing in the Virtual Regional Skills competition.

Six students within Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools took home medals after competing in the Virtual Regional Skills competition.

Students over the past month have been competing in different Career and Technology Studies areas with other schools across central Alberta. Here are the school division’s medallists:

Gold

  • Owen Homan, Grade 10 student at École Secondaire Notre Dame High School – Carpentry
  • Nadja Bergstrom, Grade 10 student St. Joseph High School – Hairstyling (Junior)

Silver

  • Austin Goruk, Grade 10 student at École Secondaire Notre Dame High School – Carpentry

Bronze

  • Abrieanna Waddell, Grade 10 student at École Secondaire Notre Dame High School – Culinary Arts
  • Eric Scafe, Grade 10 student at École Secondaire Notre Dame High School – Carpentry 
  • Matteo Montalto, Grade 12 student at St. Joseph High School – Welding

These students will be able to continue onto the 29th Provincial Skills Canada Competition hosted virtually on April 14-23.
