Red Deer taxi-jacking suspect arrested, charged

Red Deer RCMP have arrested a suspect who allegedly robbed and stole a cab driver’s vehicle.

Red Deer RCMP have arrested and charged a suspect in the robbery and carjacking of a taxi on Nov. 17.

Shortly before 1 p.m. Monday, RCMP received a report that the suspect in the armed robbery of a cab driver and subsequent theft of his taxi was in a gas station on Ross Street. RCMP officers attended the location immediately and arrested the suspect without incident.

Anthony Csordas, 19, of Red Deer, faces the following charges: robbery while armed with an offensive weapon and possession of a weapon for purpose of committing an offence.

Csordas will appear in court in Red Deer on Dec. 20 at 9:30 am.
