Red Deer U15 AAA Braves win three over Parkland Twins

Braves had seven game-win streak snapped in weekend finale

The Red Deer U15 AAA Ernco Braves had another just kept rolling over the weekend.

Red Deer went 3-1 in a four-game set against the Parkland Twins, improving to 27-5 on the season.

In the opening contest of the weekend, the Braves earned a 7-1 victory. Evan Russell picked up the win on the mound, tossing a complete game, seven-inning gem, with just one hit allowed and six strikeouts.

The Braves had seven hits on the afternoon and each of Addison Giesbrecht, Burke Schulte-Bates, and Brett Hall each picking up multiple hits.

In a 9-0 win in game 2, Nathan Flewelling threw five innings, allowing no runs over six innings, while striking out five. Red Deer scored seven runs in the first inning on the way to the win. Luke Schmitt, Noah Nakonechny, Wyatt McKeen, Avery Coumont, and Jake Brooks each drove in runs during the inning.

Nakonechny led Braves AAA 15U with three hits in three at bats.

Game 3

Red Deer earned its seventh straight win in Game 3, knocking off the Twins 9-5 in a back and forth battle.

Hudson Hoy, Easton Katura, and Chayce Providence each had RBIs in the sixth inning en route to the win.

The home side scattered ten hits in the game. Brooks and Noah Nakonechny each racked up multiple hits.

The Braves fell 16-9 in their final game of the weekend.

The home side collected nine hits and Parkland Twins had 13 in the high-scoring affair.

Giesbrecht and Nathan Flewelling each had multiple hits for Braves AAA 15U. Flewelling and Giesbrecht each collected three hits to lead the Braves.
