Red Deer’s annual celebration of sport is happening Saturday, May 13, in conjunction with the annual Red Deer PCN Fun Run.

The City of Red Deer is seeking applications from local sport groups interested in participating in Xplore Sport Day, which is set to be held at Canada 150 Square in the Capstone neighbourhood from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Xplore Sport Day offers residents of all ages opportunities to try out a variety of sport and recreation activities available in Red Deer, the city stated in a media release Thursday.

The event features information sessions, demonstrations and interactive activities presented by local sport organizations.

Sport groups interested in participating are asked to submit a completed application form by March 31 that indicates the type of presence they would like to have at the event (display booth, demonstration or interactive activity).
