Sharon Roberts is pleading for the safe return of her beloved Bichon-Shih Tzu.
The Normandeau resident said 10-year-old Daisy went missing around supper time on May 30 after a delivery person left the gate to her yard open.
“We’ve been searching ever since. We have flyers out. I’ve gone door to door. I’ve had other people go door to door,” Roberts said Tuesday.
She said she got Daisy when it was just a puppy and it has been like a therapy dog.
“I got her when I was first diagnosed with fibromyalgia and she would sleep up on my shoulder. If I’m having a bad day, she never leaves me. She is just a very gentle dog. She never barks.”
Roberts said her two small dogs have free access to the fenced yard through the screen door, so she didn’t immediately realize that Daisy was missing.
“Because she’s older, she tends to sleep a lot.”

She said someone in Normandeau posted online on behalf of a friend that Daisy was found the day after she went missing, and that the animal was taken to someone in Fairview claiming to work for the SPCA.
Roberts said she has been unable to get more information about Daisy’s whereabouts, or reach the person who may have her dog. Roberts has since filed a report with Red Deer RCMP.
All the local animal agencies have been contacted to be on the lookout for Daisy.
“If you have my dog, just please return her, and don’t hurt her. I’m so afraid that they’re abusing her. She’ll be so afraid, so scared without me. She pines when I’m not around her.”
The 3.6-kilogram dog has cream and white fur, with some black fur on her ears. A $2,000 reward has been offered. Roberts can be reached at 403-596-6791.
Red Deer RCMP said anyone with information about Daisy can call the detachment at 403-343-5575.
