Red Deerians are invited to share their ideas and aspirations for Red Deer’s future as part of a city-led public participation project.

Two workshops as well as a public engagement tool, jointly titled Shape your Red Deer, chart our community’s path to 2040, will begin gathering public feedback this month.

The collected input from Red Deerians will be used to guide the city’s 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, as well as its Vision 2040 plan. This will help influence what the City of Red Deer does, and how it grows over the next four to 20 years.

Participants will be asked about their long-term vision for Red Deer as well as their ideas on how to get there at two interactive workshops that are open to all members of the public.

A workshop will be held online on Tuesday, May 3, from 1 – 3:30 p.m. (through Zoom), and in-person on Monday, May 16, from 5 – 7:30 p.m. at Festival Hall, 4214 58 St.

To RSVP for either session, please visit www.reddeer.ca/2040.

There will also be an engagement tool on the city’s website that will close on May 22.

Interim City Manager Tara Lodewyk said, “We encourage all Red Deerians to be part of this exciting time and share their ideas with us by participating in the online or in-person workshops, or with the online engagement tool.”
