Red Deer’s 2017 Mayor’s Recognition Awards seeks nominees

Deadline for nominations is Feb. 28

Do you know a Red Deer resident deserving of recognition for outstanding community contributions?

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2017 Red Deer Mayor’s Recognition Awards. They can be made in five categories that recognize individuals or groups whose actions have strengthened the city and enhanced its “overall well-being.”

Candidates who have brought honour or recognition to the city through: Athletics, Distinguished Voluntary Service, Fine and Performing Arts, or Community Building can be nominated in these categories. A Mayor’s Recognition Awards Committee will then select the winners.

A Mayor’s Special Award will also be presented to a recipient chosen by Mayor Tara Veer.

This year’s ceremony will be held in June, but the nomination deadline is Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 9 a.m.

For more information, please visit www.reddeer.ca/MRA. Nomination forms can also be picked up from the Legislative Services office, on the second floor of City Hall.
