Three billy goats will come up with some outrageously entertaining ways to outwit a voracious troll in the family-friendly theatrical presentation Three Billy Goats Gruff, by Calf Skit.
The Red Deer improvisation troupe is hitting the Bower Ponds outdoor stage in Red Deer on July 15th and 22nd to put on two free shows each day of the Norwegian fairy tale.
Shows are at 10:30 a.m. and noon. They are recommended for kids age 10 and under.
As with all of Calf Skit’s staged stories, Three Billy Goats Gruff comes with a twist: “Our performers will take your favorite classic, lovable fairy tales and, with your suggestions, put a spin on them using improvisation,” say organizers. Performers will bring “the silly, the bold, and the fun to beloved stories.”
Audience members are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket, some water and some snacks.
The shows, presented by Against the Wall Theatre, are free due to sponsorships by Henry’s Eavestroughing, Alberta Foundation of the Arts, and The City of Red Deer.
In case of rain, the presentations will move indoors to the Scott Block theater at 4816-50 Ave.
