Red Deer’s Viewpoint Gallery is calling for exhibition proposals from artists.

Artists, curators and collectives are invited to submit proposals for The City of Red Deer’s Viewpoint Gallery for the 2024/25 exhibition program.

Artists and curators working in any visual art media, including but not limited to: sculpture, painting, printmaking, lettering arts, ceramics, fibre arts, glass, fine craft, jewellery, digital art, mixed media, photography, film, video and performance art can apply. But applicants must be Canadian residents.

Viewpoint Gallery is an informal exhibition space in the lobby of The City of Red Deer’s Culture Centre.

The goal of the gallery is to showcase a variety of visual art forms, offer exhibition opportunities to artists and curators, and offer visitors opportunities to engage with artists and their work. An honorarium is provided to exhibitors.

Submission requirements should include a brief description of the proposed exhibition, and artist’s statement or curator’s statement related to the proposed work, and a biography and CV or résumé.

As well, five to 10 JPG images of supporting artwork and a corresponding image list should be provided.

The deadline for proposal submission is Wednesday, May 1 at 4:00 p.m. Proposals can be emailed to culturemailbox@reddeer.ca.

More information is available on the city’s website reddeer.ca/viewpoint.
