Green carts will shift back to weekly collection as seasonal yard waste increases.
The city said seasonal changes in the green cart collection schedule supports the efficiency of the cart collection program, while still meeting the collection needs of cart customers.
Residents are reminded that if their green cart is full, extra yard waste can be set next to the full green cart for collection. They can place extra yard waste one metre away from any cart in a paper yard waste bag, loose in a garbage can, or small branches can be bundled and tied with string.
Residents are encouraged to sign up for cart collection alerts through Notify Red Deer for personalized reminders about which carts to set out each week. Sign up, or add these alerts to an existing account at www.reddeer.ca/notifyreddeer.
