Regina police say a member of the force has been charged after a hit-and-run on Wednesday.

Police say the two-vehicle crash occurred around 10 p.m. and one of the drivers fled the scene.

They say a 35-year-old man was arrested shortly after the collision, and no injuries were reported.

Police say the man, who has been a constable with the police force for nine years, was off-duty at the time of the crash.

They say Scott Shane Ash was charged with impaired driving and failure to stop after an accident.

Police say Ash has been placed on leave.
