Registration for Red Deer arts, recreation programming begins Aug. 15

The City of Red Deer is encouraging residents to mark their calendars for fall program registration, which is happening soon.

New program options are viewable beginning Aug. 10 through My Activity Guide and registration will begin on Aug. 15 at noon.

“Fall programs include everything from swim lessons and preschool programs, to fitness and wellness, arts and culture and more. Get back into the rhythm of fall with a wide variety of programs at The City of Red Deer,” the city stated in a media release on Thursday.

The virtual waiting room, which was piloted in the summer registration session, will not be returning for the upcoming registration day. The system will revert back to the previously offered experience without a wait to enter the city’s Look ‘n Book.

Red Deerians are encouraged to visit their Look’ n Book accounts prior to registration day to ensure access is up to date. For any questions regarding account access, people are asked to contact the city’s recreation department at 403-309-8411.

Residents can create their own custom activity guide to review all fall program options at www.reddeer.ca/MyActivityGuide. Programs are viewable in the same fashion as they were in the previously produced paper guide. Customers can create their own custom guide and select categories, age groups and locations relevant to them and their families.

There are three ways to register for City of Red Deer programs:

  • Online through My Activity Guide at reddeer.ca/MyActivityGuide or directly through Look ’n Book at looknbook.reddeer.ca;
  • By phone: 403-309-8411;
  • In person at Collicutt Centre, G.H. Dawe Community Centre or Recreation Centre.

The city states it has updated its system to serve online registrants more quickly. Confirmation emails will be sent within 24 hours in an effort to reduce the immediate load on our online systems.

“This means customers may not receive an immediate receipt for their registrations.”
