Remembrance Day ceremonies being held throughout central Alberta

Central Albertans will pay their respects to the soldiers who have lost their lives at Remembrance Day ceremonies on Friday.

Central Albertans will pay their respects to the soldiers who have lost their lives at Remembrance Day ceremonies on Friday.

The Red Deer Legion Branch #35 will host its annual ceremony at Servus Arena at 10:30 a.m.

Here are some of the other Remembrance Day ceremonies happening throughout central Alberta:

  • Blackfalds – Abbey Centre at 10:45 a.m. (there will be a brief ceremony at the cenotaph following the service)
  • Caroline – Nazarene Church at 9:50 a.m. and Legion at 10:50 a.m.
  • Delburne – Delburne Community Hall at 10:30 a.m.
  • Eckville – Eckville Community Hall at 10:45 a.m.
  • Innisfail – Innisfail Cenotaph at 10:30 a.m.
  • Lacombe – Lacombe Memorial Centre at 10:30 a.m.
  • Olds – Ralph Klein Centre Auditorium at 10:30 a.m. (there will be a brief ceremony at cenotaph in Centennial Park following the service)
  • Ponoka – Legion Auditorium at 10:45 a.m. (there will be a parade from ATCO Gas to the Legion Cenotaph at 10:15 a.m.)
  • Rimbey – Peter Lougheed Community Centre at 10:45 a.m.
  • Rocky Mountain House – Lou Soppit Community Centre at 10:40 a.m.
  • Sylvan Lake – Fox Run/Mother Teresa Catholic School at 10:30 a.m.
