Temporary repairs on the Highway 27 railway crossing in Olds have been delayed.

In a news release Tuesday, the town said CP told them that the repairs are a “precursor to more substantial and essential maintenance scheduled in the near future.”

“CP Rail communicated that there is a delay in completing the remaining repairs, attributed primarily to the procurement, stating that the necessary parts and materials are expected to arrive between May 1 and May 15,” the Town of Olds said in the release.

“To ensure the safety of all road users, bump signs have been installed and are prominently visible for eastbound traffic on Highway 27 before the crossing.”

The town also said “bump signs have been installed and are prominently visible for eastbound traffic on Highway 27 before the crossing.”

The town also said a temporary speed reduction to 30 km/h will be implemented by Alberta Transportation.

“We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work with Canadian Pacific to expedite these critical infrastructure improvements,” the town said.
