Residents allowed to return to homes after Lacombe gas leak

A natural gas leak in Lacombe had resulted in the precautionary evacuation of four homes, the City of Lacombe reported at about 10 a.m. on Thursday. The residents have been allowed back into their homes as of the late afternoon.

The residents have been allowed back into their homes as of the late afternoon.

As well, 30 homes are without gas at this time.

The leak occurred at 43 Emily Cres, in the Elizabeth Park neighbourhood.

Earlier in the morning, detours were set up and traffic was rerouted from the area but the roads have since been reopened.

ATCO workers were onsite, working to repair the leak and have finished work on the gas line and all affected homes have had their gas services restored.
