Rimbey RCMP identify attempted truck theft suspect, warrant issued

With the help of public tips, Rimbey RCMP have identified a suspect in an attempted truck theft earlier this month.

A 25-year-old Red Deer man has been identified and faces a charge of theft of a motor vehicle.

On April 3, Rimbey RCMP issued a press release hoping to identify a man who tried to steal a truck parked at a rural property. The homeowner took photos of the male before chasing him off her property.

Since then, public tips and assistance from RCMP members from other detachments has led to the identification of the suspect.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
