Road closures are upcoming for Ross Street and Riverside Drive in Red Deer

Red Deer motorists are being advised about three upcoming road closures as crews work on water and sewer infrastructure.

Red Deer motorists are being advised about three upcoming road closures as crews work on water and sewer infrastructure.

Starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Ross Street will be closed between 41 Avenue and 42 Avenue. The closure will be in effect until until 6 p.m. on Friday.

Drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes where possible and reminded to slow down and obey all signs when driving in construction zones. Pedestrians should cross only at designated crosswalks.

Another road closure will happen on Riverside Drive between 49 Street and 67 Street as crews work on sanitary and storm sewer manholes in preparation for future paving.

This closure will be on the eastbound approach to 67 Street from Riverside Drive starting at 6 a.m. on Wednesday. It will continue until 4 p.m. on Thursday.Drivers are to access Riverside Industrial Park and Lions Campground through Gaetz Avenue during the closure and access areas north of 67 Street using 77 Street.

The second closure along the same stretch of road will happen at 4758 Riverside Drive beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8. It’s expected to wrap up at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12. During this closure, traffic will be detoured through Riverside Industrial Park.

Drivers should expect delays, slow down when driving in construction zones, and obey all signs. Pedestrians are reminded to cross only at designated crosswalks.
