Central Alberta got its first taste of harsh winter weather for the season on Thursday morning.
Poor driving conditions were reported on many Red Deer-area highways, with slick road surfaces and reduced visibility due to blowing snow.
Today's Environment Canada forecas calls for about 2 centimetres of flurries and a northerly wind of 30 km/h gusting to 50 km/h.
Temperature are expected to falling to -4C this afternoon and tonight's expected low is -13C.
