Roadway sealing work will begin Friday in the Burnt Lake Industrial subdivision, as crews complete roadway sealing treatment on all paved roadways within City limits.

The project is expected to last approximately three days with most of the work occurring Saturday and Sunday. Traffic will be reduced to one lane while crews complete the work. Access to businesses will be maintained but drivers should anticipate traffic delays.

Sealing is a cost-effective road preservation treatment that seals the surface of the roadway and helps to prevent and delay the occurrence of cracking, ravelling, and the formation of potholes, according to the City of Red Deer.

Drivers are reminded to slow down when driving in construction zones and obey all signs. All road construction is weather dependant and schedules may be subject to change.
