Robin Hood and his merry men will be up to their old tricks, robbing from the rich and giving to the poor, in Red Deer from March 10.

Cornerstone Youth Theatre’s Robin Hood The Musical will be presented by 53 talented young performers at New Life Fellowship, 20 Kelloway Cres.

The outlaw is leading a merry life with his followers in Sherwood Forest. Anyone needing a place to live or food to eat is welcome to join the gang in the green wood.

These impoverished citizens, led by Robin, begin to wage battle against the unfair policies of evil Prince John, who’s assumed the throne while King Richard the Lion Heart is on a crusade.

Meanwhile, scheming Lady Merle of Cornwall hopes to make John more acceptable to the people of England by forcing Maid Marian, Robin’s sweetheart, to marry the wicked prince.

It’s up to Robin to stop the marriage, defeat a nasty sheriff, and secure Nottingham for the king’s return.

Shows will run Fridays and Saturdays, March 10, 11, 17, and 18 at 7 p.m. There will be 3 p.m. matinees on Saturday, March 11 and 18 and on Sunday, March 19, when the show closes.
