A Rocky Mountain House man is now facing a murder charge after another local man succumbed to injuries.
On Oct. 1, Rocky RCMP said they received a call from a man stating he may have injured his friend the previous evening.
When police arrived, they found Harley Smith, 57, injured.
Smith was airlifted to the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton but died from his injuries.
After an autopsy was completed on Monday, the medical examiner determined the death was a homicide.
RCMP have arrested Neil Cooling, 51, and charged him with second-degree murder.
Cooling remains in custody and will appear in Rocky court on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
