A young woman has died after being struck in a motor vehicle collision in O’Chiese First Nation.
Saturday, just before 6 a.m., the RCMP in Rocky Mountain House responded to a complaint of a disturbance. Officers determined there was a motor vehicle collision and a young female pedestrian was hit.
The 17-year-old was taken to hospital suffering from critical injuries.
On Monday, she succumbed to her injuries and died in hospital.
The investigation is ongoing. A collision analyst attended to conduct a scene examination.
The 22-year-old female driver of the vehicle was arrested on the scene, and charges are anticipated.
