On Monday, at about 2:40 p.m., Rocky Mountain House RCMP and Lakeside EMS were called to a residence on the Sunchild First Nation.

Police say a 46-year-old man stabbed a 43-year-old woman in the arm, resulting in non-life threatening injuries. According to police alcohol was a factor in the incident and the man and woman knew each other.

The man was arrested nearby shortly after the incident while the woman was taken to hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.

The investigation continues and police expect charges to follow.
