Hwy 2 traffic southbound backs up as northbound traffic passes the scene after a car rolled over on northbound Hwy 2 around 11:15 a.m. Friday.

The female driver wasn’t injured when she lost control, struck the Red Deer River bridge’s steel guardrail and flipped the car in the fast lane.

Traffic in both directions was backed up when Emergency Services closed the fast lanes in both directions to enable clearing the scene.

City traffic, particularly on Taylor Drive, Gaetz Avenue and 67th Street, was also jammed by motorists trying to avoid the highway backup.
