Paula Hamilton talks about her son Hudson’s recent immunization shots as Grade 2 students Dylan Perkins, left, Taylor Leroux and Jazz McDougall, all 7, watch the four-month-old at C.P. Blakely School.

Two other Sylvan Lake schools, Our Lady of the Rosary and ecole Steffie Woima Elementary, will also participate in the Roots of Empathy project, which teaches students about the feelings of others and their own through a baby’s development over from four to 13 months of age.

Funding for the three-year program came from the United Way’s Community Initiatives fund, the Town of Sylvan Lake’s Family and Community Support Services department and a provincial Community Facility Enhancement Program grant.
