Notre Dame High School electrical technology instructor Leigh Smithson shows a group of educators from Belize his classroom as they tour the school recently. A delegation of nine educators, including from the left Glenford Parthan, Erwin Arnold, Nelson Longsworth and Athea Spain, will spend time in Red Deer, Camrose, Edmonton and Athabasca as part of their Rotarian Group Study Exchange. Delegates will learn about Alberta Education curriculum, assessment and teaching models. The Belizeans will also meet with 24 Alberta educators, who are preparing for a trip of their own to Belize in August. The group study exchange is the outcome of several years of work by Alberta and Belizean teachers and Rotary clubs in Belize and Alberta.
